FAQ
FAQ from a photographer – In this part you can find some questions that, very often, clients ask us or are useful to our reader, interested in my studio’s services:
Why choose you?
If you would like a wedding that is perfectly tended to in every detail from before the big day to the very last minutes of your reception, we are certainly the answer!
Our service includes a pre-wedding photo session, to better acquaint ourselves with you, allowing us to take really natural pictures of you, while also helping you feel comfortable in front of the camera and videocamera on the big day.
Before the wedding, we also visit the ceremony and reception venues, to better organize lights and microphones. In fact, by your wedding date, we will have taken care of any flash/spotlights/microphones issues so well, we will not be caught off guard by any unforeseen circumstance!
On the day of the wedding
On the day of the wedding our service starts with preparation; one photographer will meet the bride, another one the groom, capturing every moment. A ligths/microphone tech will take care of logistics (lights, computers, outlets, forms, etc.) and –should you opt for video service- one of our professionals will meet both bride and groom to record their preparation.
Soon after, while the bride reaches the church, the garden or the city hall, a photographer will follow her step by step and the other on, in the meantime, will follow the groom and the guests
The same happens during the wedding reception, where our team always shines, also thanks to technology; we stay in touch with one another from the first few minutes of the day to late in the evening through professional earpieces, allowing us to operate in perfect sync!
As far as the video is concerned, it has nothing to do with traditional videos- which are often long and boring: we offer a new, modern product, which is met with high appreciation, and we invite you to learn more about it in the special section devoted to it.
Of course, as you might have guessed, we don’t leave after the cutting of the cake, but stay on to the very last minute- seizing moments which often afford us unforgettable shots. We offer all this at a competitive price, bringing you the utmost professionalism- it’s no accident we work all over Europe.
Do you take pose pictures?
Generally, we prefer avoiding this because we like to offer a wedding reportage where the couple is photographed in real, spontaneous moments.
For this reason, as written, we meet the couple before the wedding and get to know each other trying to figure out how embarrassed might they be in front of photographers and how able could they be in pretending that no one is watching.
These meetings are designed to “relax” the couple in front of us, to make them feel our complicity and help us work better. Every wedding is different and we have to change our methods according to different requirements. We might say that these meetings turn out to be really important, more for us than for the newlyweds. Often after a few jokes and a few shots we see how the atmosphere changes, there is less embarrassment, more fun and on the wedding day everything gets easier and the pictures are spontaneous and full of emotion.
Obviously, if requested we are ready to perform even pose photos, but always with a certain originality
…what about photos with relatives and guests?
Generally, in modern weddings people prefer to avoid posing in photos with relatives and we share the same view being more inclined to take stolen snapshots of the guests during the reception.
However, what often occurs is that, in the following months, relatives want to get a photo of the day, which is not always easy to find unless “classic” photos are taken. For this reason, it is important to discuss this aspect in order to avoid giving a bad impression but at the same time without falling back into the monotony of plastic poses.
We have various solutions to solve this matter, for instance we may take pictures at the tables during the reception, perhaps while the bride and groom wander among the guests or we can create more original poses for the photos.
If the bride and groom prefer the classic version, then we need to decide the time when such pictures will be taken in order to avoid getting to the end of the evening with second thoughts or requests from relatives before they leave.
Clearly, if the bride and groom are not at all interested in this kind of pictures, we are happy to make an actual wedding reportage but not without first warning them of the tragicomic scenarios that they might face at the end of the party. It is quite common indeed, in afternoon weddings, to end up at two in the morning taking pictures of relatives who are worn out from the day (but still want to look good in the photos) and with cheerful but tired voice come up with the all-important question: “Shall we have a souvenir photo taken?” …and from there people start queuing endlessly because they feel obliged to take their turn in posing for pictures and end up making out a magic day an actual photographic torment for the poor newly-wed.
Which areas do you work in?
All over Europe.
…and how much do you charge for the transfer?
We only ask you to cover any additional travel expenses (fuel or plane ticket) and provide for our accommodation for two days (we are happy to accept even one room for 3 or 4 people, with no special requirements).
How will you be dressed?
Generally, if the bride and groom do not have particular requests, we wear plain clothes adequate for different circumstances, often trousers and a shirt.
When the situation or the clients require it, we can also wear a jacket and the girl who works with us wears high-heals and a smart dress (sometimes changing the shoes and dress after the reception).
The only requirement we have regarding our clothes is the possibility to apply on our back the two-way radio connected to our earpieces, essential for us to keep in touch with each other and offer the most professional service we can.
How much does your service cost?
Our prices range according to various factors (just photos, photos and video, city where the event will take place) and they include all of the above-mentioned services, therefore we ask you to kindly provide all the information you can with the form you find in the contacts section in order for us to respond to your queries in a detailed and timely manner.
